Waiting for Baby – Markham Stouffville Maternity and Newborn Photographer

I really like blogging.  Sometimes I feel like images alone aren’t enough to tell a story.  I mean everyone has a story and I love to share a little about the people in front of my lens.  Meet Melissa.  She’s 36 weeks pregnant.  They’re expecting their first child and keeping the gender a surprise but she thinks it’s a boy.  When she first came over to the studio to meet with me we were on week one with our pup Fenway.  I was in zombie mode.  The lack of sleep was killing me.  She was quick to embrace Fenway and told me she was a momma to 3 fur babies!!!!  I think we spoke very little about photography during our meeting and more about dogs and how much work they are but how much joy they bring.  I was like um, this sounds awfully familiar, kinda like motherhood (to humans)!  She told me to be strong and stick the routine because in the end it’s totally worth it.

Melissa shared a little story about these moccasins she brought along to our maternity session.  She had only been dating her boyfriend for about 5 months when she took a trip to Peru.  She travelled without him.  It was supposed to be a spiritual kind of a trip.  She came across these cute little baby booties in a market and was immediately attracted to them.  She walked away from them but then something drew her back.  She knew that one day she’d marry that man and they’d start a family together but she didn’t want to freak him out and come home with baby booties.  As you can see she found room in her suitcase and he found room in his heart to join her in an exciting adventure together 🙂

Melissa, I can’t wait to meet your little one in the spring.  You guys are going to make amazing parents and I’m so happy to be a part of capturing some special memories for you!

Love,

MA
